Land of Hope and Glory

Sir Edward Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March is widely played in the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

In England it is used to celebrate English, as opposed to British, patriotism.
Lyric’s were commissioned and added by Arthur Benson for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.
The Chorus is commonly heard at English Soccer games sung by the fans to “Rally” their team.

Land of Hope and Glory,
Mother of the Free,

How shall we extol thee,
Who are born of thee?

Wider still and wider,
Shall thy bounds be set;
God, who made thee mighty,
Make thee mightier yet”.
